Effect of Different Herbicides and Allelochemicals on Weed Density and Soil Microbial Population under Direct Seeded Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

چکیده

The use of herbicides for weed control often catches the eye environmentalists as it harms soil microflora leading to deteriorated health. So, efforts are being made in order that can cause no or very less harm microflora. In this context, an experiment is planned know potential effect different and allelochemicals on density microbial population under direct seeded rice where herbicide management widely adopted. conducted during Rabi, 2020 summer, 2021 red sandy loams Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra (GKVK), University Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru by using randomized complete block design with three replications. Out treatments tried out, T4 i.e., bispyribac sodium 10 SC 40 g a.i. ha-1 post emergence has reported superior which evident lower (43.3 no. m-2) dry weight (49.2 followed T1 bensulfuron methyl + pretilachlor 6.6 GR 660 pre (46.0 m-2 51.4 m-2, respectively). When considered all allelochemical recorded higher but these was not satisfactory. Among herbicides, bacteria, actinomycetes fungi (23.52 x 105, 15.30 104 12.45 103 CFU g-1 soil, respectively) over (21.83 13.33 10.91 Hence, taking both into consideration treatment concluded be better herbicide.

Effects of Seeding Time and Weed Control Methods in Direct Seeded Rice (oryza Sativa L.)

Field experiments were conducted during the 2 year period from 2008 and 2009 to determine the effects of three seeding dates and seven weed control methods in DSR. The results suggested that seeding in the first week of July reduced weed density and biomass, increased kernel weight, leaf area index, and kernel yield compared to seeding rice in the first week of July. Amongst weed control method...

Emergence of Red Rice (Oryza sativa) Ecotypes Under Dry-Seeded Rice (Oryza sativa) Culture1

The effect of seeding depth on emergence of red rice (Oryza sativa) ecotypes from Arkansas (AR), Louisiana (LA), and Mississippi (MS) was determined under dry-seeded rice production in clay and silt loam soils in Arkansas. By 21 d after planting (DAP), all red rice ecotypes had emerged from planting depths of 1.3, 2.5, 5.0, and 7.5 cm in both clay and silt loam soils. In silt loam soil, seedlin...

Molecular Mapping of QTLs Associated with Lodging Resistance in Dry Direct-Seeded Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Dry direct-seeded rice (DSR) is an alternative crop establishment method with less water and labor requirement through mechanization. It provides better opportunities for a second crop during the cropping season and therefore, a feasible alternative system to transplanted lowland rice. However, lodging is one of the major constraints in attaining high yield in DSR. Identification of QTLs for lo...

QTL Hotspots for Early Vigor and Related Traits under Dry Direct-Seeded System in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Strong seedling vigor is desirable trait in dry direct-seeded rice (DSR) for enhancing crop establishment and the ability to compete against weeds.
